If you have been following me you are no doubt sick of all of the snake images I’ve been posting and writing about as of late.
This weeks article is about taking a break. Let’s get started.
Take a Break
As much as I like to live and breath photography, like anything, if you do something long enough, even if it’s something you love doing, you will get tired of it and need a break.
Of course, when photography is your business it’s hard to just get away from it for a bit.
I still work a full-time job along with running my photography business and run a 10-acre farm with my wife and 3 (soon to be 4) kids, so I have plenty to keep myself busy!
But along with everything else I have going on, I also have a LOT of other interests. Most of which are artistic in nature which goes hand in hand with photography.
I’m not saying to take like a long break, several days are weeks. More like just get your mind away for a short while. Read a book or listen to an audiobook or go for a walk. A couple of days off can be nice but I find myself starting to miss it, which is kind of the purpose.
One thing I was concerned about when I first started doing this is that I would start to hate it. I’ve almost gotten to that point a couple of times, but that is when I would step back for a bit and think about or do something else.
I know this might seem like something of insignificance when it comes to photography but I’ve found it to be quite helpful. When I come back I am refreshed and full of new positive energy, ideas and renewed enthusiasm for what I love doing!
I hope you have a great rest of the week!
