How to Remove Chromatic Aberration

First off, in case you don't know what chromatic aberration is. It is that purple, green and sometimes blue fringing that occurs on edges when a dark contrast object is over a bright contrast area like the sky, or vice-versa.Here is an example.But no worries, it is actually really easy to correct in Lightroom and Photoshop.

How to Remove Chromatic Aberration in Lightroom

From the tools bar on the right side, scroll down to Lens Corrections. Under Defringe you'll see the purple amount, purple hue, green amount and green hue sliders. Depending on the color of the chromatic aberration, you will use these sliders to remove it.For example, if it is purple, then use the purple amount slider. If that doesn't remove it completely, change the purple hue slider until the chromatic aberration is gone.Here is a video showing you how to do this in Lightroom.https://youtu.be/uC02jSpo98E

With the layer selected, go to filter, camera raw filter. Click the lens corrections tab. From here you do the same thing as in Lightroom.Under Defringe you'll see the purple amount, purple hue, green amount and green hue sliders. Depending on the color of the chromatic aberration, you will use these sliders to remove it.For example, if it is purple, use the purple amount slider.
